The Philosophy Of Personal Healing Is Growing At A Tremendous Rate

By Ronald Carter

For most people, seeing a doctor or other health professional when they are feeling unwell physically or mentally is the only option open to them. They expect medical science to offer a remedy to whatever it is that ails them. However, an increasing number of people say that this is an abdication of personal responsibility for each individual can cure himself. This movement towards personal healing has gained tremendous ground during the past years.

The concept of self curing does not involve the common practice of using over the counter drugs or traditional medication to address a health problem. It is a philosophy that is based on the belief that people have the power in their minds to cause a cure to almost any ailment. They just need to learn how to harness that power and how to use it in a positive way.

According to this philosophy every human being is surrounded by a unique energy field. If this energy field is harnessed, it can be used to unleash the power of the mind to cure diseases. However, if this energy field is depleted, blocked or unbalanced, the power of the mind decreases. It is therefore important to make sure that this energy field is healthy and balanced.

Faith is very important in the process. Once the power of the mind has been directed towards a disease it is important to have absolute faith in the process. Some people find it very difficult to maintain their faith. Therapists active in this field say that it is perfectly possible to believe unconditionally. They point to the example set by devout Christians or Muslims, for example.

Literature on this subject frequently address the idea that it is only possible to truly harness the power of the mind for curing ailments when one is at peace with oneself and if one truly love oneself. This, they say, can be achieved by taking up a discipline such as reiki, yoga or meditation. These disciplines help people to relax and to gain inner perspective.

It is not only the mind that needs to be nurtured in order to use the power of the mind. The physical body and the mind must be in balance and therefore the body also needs attention. Counsellors advise their patients on how to embark upon an exercise program, how to eat properly and healthily, how to avoid or deal with stress and how to ensure quality sleeping patterns.

There is certainly no shortage of self help material on this subjects. Numerous books and dedicated websites promise to teach people how to fully develop and use the incredible power of the mind. Many beginners struggle with self help material and prefer to receive direction and guidance from an experienced teacher or therapist. This helps them to maintain a routine and to remain disciplined.

The movement towards self curing has frown tremendously during the past few years. More and more people believe that they, and they alone, are in control of their destinies. They believe that they have the power, in their minds, to heal, to energize and to motivate themselves.
