The Seven Species Of Fish Caught When Deep Sea Fishing

When a person intends to go angling, there is a need to put into consideration a number of factors. This includes the equipment they intend to use, the duration of the trip, and the supplies needed for the stay. There are many reasons as to why people go on these trips, mainly for sport or for consumption.

In angling, you will be surprised to know the various species of marine life that you encounter. While this mainly depends on your present location, a vast majority of them can be found when exploring the deepest points of earth. Stated below is a list of species to catch when going Deep Sea Fishing Tarpon Springs.

The Wahoo fish or scientifically known as the Acanthocybium Solandri, which has been sighted across the globe. However, they are limited to tropical bodies of water and restrict themselves to this particular area for survival. When conducting in this activity, majority of fishermen catch them in numerous numbers due to it being highly commonplace.

Another tropical fish is the Mahi Mahi, which is part of the Coryphaenidae family. Often times, fishermen and the local people call it the dolphin because of appearance that it has. It looks like a smaller version of the animal. Nevertheless, it can be recognized by its greenish blue body and ray fins.

An easily recognizable fish is the White Marlin because of its huge size and a mouth with a sword like appearance. Furthermore, their colors range from a deep shade of blue to a blue that is tinged with brown highlights. The White Marlin is a solitary breed and travel in small groups, which makes it hard to spot them. According to world records, the largest was a female that reached fourteen feet in length.

The Tuna is a fairly popular breed and are scientifically labeled as Thunnus Albacares. However, the most popular is the Yellowfin Tuna and the largest one ever caught by human hands was only 400 pounds. This means that those that remain near the bottom of the ocean could be significantly larger. Aside from its huge size, they swim rapidly as well, which speeds reaching up to 45 mph. When this is the main target, fishermen usually take with them a boat that has large equipment that is capable of capturing such an enormous and heavy animal.

Sphyaena Barracuda, or simply labeled as the Barracuda is another breed that is known for its large size and ray fins. Most people who have sighted it consider it to have a frightening appearance, due to its long and compressed body. Moreover, it has a ferocious and aggressive behavior, known for attacking humans upon contact or sight.

The Sailfish is another huge breed that made its home within the deep currents of the Indian and Pacific Ocean. It belongs to the Istiophorus Platypterus family and its average length is around three to four meters long and an average weight of one hundred kilograms. The oldest sailfish lived around four years of age before dying of natural causes.

The King Mackarel is the migratory species of mackerel that was first caught in the year eighteen twenty nine. Today, it continues to be most prominent in the Atlantic Ocean, but it can be spotted across the world because of its migration patterns. Its average weight is around forty kilograms.
