This allows for detection of any damage to the bones and the internal organs of a person.

Its activities involve a procedure that is not invasive and uses very little ionizing radiation that is absorbed into the internal structures of the body to produce their image. This allows for the determination of injury level and a suggestion of appropriate treatment. They are used to diagnose a condition simply by switching on a button of their machine allowing for observation of medical condition by the physician.

Their availability and easy usage have made them very reliable for many people. Portable machines have been invented allowing the movement to doctors with these tools to emergency situations and other areas where they are most needed. Places such and nursing homes and hospitals are the ones that most use these machines. They have also been used in construction industry to determine cracks on building and bridges.

They have proven to be an essential tool in very many different occasions such as diagnosis of broken bones or dislocated joints. They may even lead to suggestions such as orthopedic surgery. Plain x-rays have been used to detect conditions such as arthritis, foreign objects in the body, abnormal bone growth and detection of periodontal diseases.

The results are usually very accurate and delivered at a short time. One often gets the results on the same day they underwent the procedure. They use light radiations which pose less danger to the body. However, when used, there are some emissions left in the body which wears off gradually with time. When frequently utilized by the same individual on many occasions they may cause cancer.

Digital x-rays have been developed to mitigate the effects of the machines on the environment. The conventional ones are known to use a chemical to put images on the film. These chemicals are harmful to the environment. This invention has been mostly applied in dental procedures.

The frequency of usage depends on age and the health of an individual. Children can frequently be diagnosed as their bones are still developing, unlike the adults. Pregnant women are advised against using these machines because of health effects they the on the children they are carrying. Those that need dental procedure of this kind are usually shielded with a lead apron and thyroid collar to protect vulnerable parts.

This has been a precious tool since it has taken away the guesswork that existed in the medical world as far as bone fractures and other diagnosis are concerned giving a precise picture of a situation. They have allowed the viewing of a root of a problem and allowed for early treatment.
