There are different type of techniques that are on offer, but sometimes one has to experiment, depending on what the child is going through. For example, group therapy is not for everyone because you have to learn to express your feelings with everyone.

Children should feel that they are comfortable in the environment, and this will help them connect with the therapist. This connection will lead to greater elements of trust. From time to time, parents need to ask the child how their process is going, but it is not something that they should be pushing. This is a connection between the child and the therapist, and this is what the parent needs to remember.
