Mixing Essential Oils For Candida

By Valerie Bowen

Anyone who has suffered from thrush will know just how unpleasant this condition can be. An overgrowth, or rapid multiplication of yeast, referred to as Candida Albicans, which are normally present in the body creates this condition. Symptoms usually present as excessive, thick vaginal discharge and frequent itching. Fortunately, using essential oils for thrush is believed to treat this condition and the symptoms.

Natural yoghurt is believed, not only to treat candida effectively, but also to relieve inflammation and soothe the affected area. The yoghurt, however, should be used externally and applied to the affected area. It is imperative, however, that you wash your hands before applying as any bacteria on one's hands can be transferred to the vagina and cause infection.

Tea tree, lavender and rosemary can be combined with vinegar to treat the symptoms. Mix two to three drops of each oil and then add to two drops of vinegar. Dilute the mixture with a cup of water, preferably distilled. Soak a piece of cotton wool into the solution and dab the inflamed area. Repeat the process three to four times daily.

Two other oils, patchouli and marjoram, may also be used to treat thrush. In approximately half a cup of water, warmed, add two drops of each oil. Using a douche, fill with the diluted mixture and apply to the vagina. Continue to douche using the solution about three times daily.

Bergamot is also believed to be highly effective for treating thrush due to it's anti fungal and antiseptic properties. A couple of drops of this oil should be mixed with distilled water, preferably warm, and put into a douche. The vagina should be swilled in the solution up to four times per day, or until symptoms begin to diminish.

Men can also be affected by thrush and experience similar unpleasant symptoms. In this instance, patchouli oil and tea tree oil can be used to treat the symptoms. Combine five drops of both patchouli and tea tree oil and add to two cups of distilled water, which has been warmed. Wash the penis thoroughly with the solution three to four times daily, or until the symptoms disappear.

Sufferers have been using essential products for this condition for decades and claim that symptoms disappear within days of treatment. Men as well as women use these treatments and the products are readily available for those who wish to try them. There are many natural products which can be used, however, the ones which have been named here tend to be the most popular when treating conditions such as this.
