In the past, it would be rare to see a person of that race who is covered because they simply could not afford it. With minimum wages, one is forced to just think of immediate things such as food, clothing and their shelter and maybe a funeral life cover. The little that is left is spent on entertainment, of which is liters of alcohol and drug. But it is pretty obvious that the drinking and drug abuse is some sort of catharsis that black working people who often finis in a structure as a licensed mental health clinician PA.
From their perspective, you would slightly understand why they would plunge themselves into that sort of lifestyle with the heavy load they carry. At home, there is tension between them and a spouse, while kids hassle you about things they do not have and then having the responsibility of sharing the house with a sick parent. While the shift at work is made longer by a ruthless boss on top of the already tiring labor.
Instant gratification from alcohol and drug abuse numbs the pain and stress, but it is wrong because, after that rapid moment of pleasure, the problem remains there and needs to be dealt with. One is actually left in a far worse condition over time because there is sicknesses and age-related illnesses that creep up.
Some might accuse black people of being lazy and irresponsible of where they are in life, but things are not that simple. Unhappiness and despair are inevitable in the mind of someone who is in that mental space. This result is evident in the fractured relationships and it is difficult to mend those of you do not have the tools to resolve the problem. Communication is key here, but if one is not used to sharing his load with others then it will be a problem for the individual and those around.
Black individuals who were thrust into a life of combat at a young age, are the adults walking through society today with mental scars from their time in the war. They were not shown any sort of appreciation after the dust has settled. Not that they did what they did because they wanted to gain riches, but they were serving their country. Because the country is what is today because of their sacrifice, they should thank in somehow.
Hence they settle for demeaning minimum wages because they never got an education, but were thrust into the battlefield as young men. The change, albeit gradual over the years, was initiated by the transformation in political power in the country. The previous government never had the black peoples interest at heart. Africans were always subjected to bad education, which would make it difficult for anyone to break out of a life of self-destruction.
The manner in which things are managed at the top affects those at the bottom of the pile. The preceding authority cared little for people of color hence they never leveled the playing field in society.
Now there is even a rise in the number of people who invest in bonds, art and other things that creates generational wealth within that race, much like how Jews do it. The financial freedom unlocks the door to so much.
