The food you eat will contribute to your health. In some cases, it can even play a part in the way your brain is able to function. One calls this brainfood. In fact a lot of scientists have proven this to be true. They have tested foods, such as blueberries, nuts and dark chocolate that a lot of people eat over time and found that this has raised their cognitive skills.

It can definitely help people who have memory problems, especially those folk who have Alzheimer's disease or Dementia. Eat will build your strength if you have a little bit of the required amount of nutrients that help you to focus. There are a wide variety of foods that you can choose from, and you can either store these in the refrigerator, in the pantry or in the cupboard.

Blueberries are great to snack on. This is good for short term memory loss. Besides blueberries, you can also turn to tomatoes. Both of these you can just store in the refrigerator. You can also use these ingredients in your cooking in different ways, so they become more than just a snack. There are so many varieties available and it means your cooking becomes a lot healthier.

Besides the cognitive functions and the memory abilities, you will also find that there are foods that help improve the levels of serotonin. This will help your state of mind. Serotonin is needed to eradicate any feelings of depression. For this, one needs to eat things like walnuts and celery. These foods are also good for other functions as well.

One of the major sources of nutrition for the brain is salmon because this contributes to omega-3 fats. This is especially important for women, and it is something that you can't forget about. Other oily fish to think about are trout or sardines. They can be used in a variety of ways, especially salmon. One can use this as a mouse, cold or hot.

Avocado can also be combined with salmon and you will find it to be extremely beneficial because of the protective factor that it has. It will protect the cells of the brain as well as maintaining a good sense of blood flow in the brain. This means that you are able to maintain the right sort of pressure in the brain.

Bright green vegetables, such as spinach and broccoli are an excellent for the brain. They contain vitamin K, and this will improve the memory. Broccoli, in particular is good because it contains folic acid, so it is important that people with Alzheimer's disease have plenty of this because it will be helpful for the memory. It is also good for depression.

Studies reveal that chocolate is not all bad. However, one has to adjust to dark chocolate, and this has to be of a good quality. There has to be a high percentage of cocoa present in a slab of chocolate. When you have a bite of this type of chocolate, you will discover that certain cognitive skills will improve over time. It is also advantageous for certain verbal skills.
