A Hint On The Best Exercise To Improve Club Head Speed

By Martha Wood

For golfers how fast you swing your clubhead has a direct influence on the outcomes of your swing. Hence, to become a golfer, you can learn from the experiences of those who have been there before you or those who are champions in the game. If they are burying more balls and winning more games and you are not, then it definitely means there is something they are doing that you are not. For this reason, read on and discover the exercise to improve club head speed.

The deadlift is a great place to start. This is basically a strength workout, and you might be wondering what it has to do with golfing. Practically, you need to be strong to be able to take a great swing. While the strength of the pelvis movement is what might seem important, you will not be flexible if you have weak primary hip extensors.

Build strength. If you need power and speed, you need strength. Your movement needs to be strong for your velocity to be increased. The single-leg RDL, for example, is lauded for developing strength and mobility. This ultimately leads to greater force development and increased velocity. Once you master this, you will be a far better golfer.

Olympic lift variations are also ideal. Strength trainers rely on these exercises a lot to help their clients gain strength. These include sled pushes/pulls, kettlebell swings, jumps, and med-ball drills. The goal is to increase posterior chain recruitment and to develop increased dynamic force production. In the end, your movement should follow a kinetic chain model. This simply means that your independent body segments should be able to link when you take a swing.

Med-ball throw variations are also used a lot by fitness trainers. What you should be looking to achieve is the range of motion necessary to provide the power you need when you hit the ball. However, this starts with how fast you can move. If you are slow, your velocity will be reduced even if you have great flexibility.

Engage in driving tests. You should be able to hit the ball as far as you can. In a bouncing-bomb style, your ball should skip down the fairway at a very high velocity. It is going to take some time before you can get the perfect move. So, practice consistently. With time, you should be able to hit the ball up from the ground with ease.

Practice and master the later release. You should stretch yourself to attain maximum speed. You should feel the ball leave your hands when the body has already moved. This ensures that the strength of the larger muscles in the legs is transferred to the upper body, increasing the strength of your swing.

Your dream of becoming a great golfer is attainable. All you need is regular, consistent training. These tips have been collected from the views of coaches and top athletes. Hence, you can also replicate them and attain the same results. However, you should note that everything takes time. So, be patient as you train.
